I'm giving my kittens away in two weeks. I absolutely love them - they're really precious to me. We're giving two of them to absolute strangers, but I really want to know how they'll be when they grow up. Is it okay to ask them to e-mail me pictures of them about once or twice a year or so?
Yes.Tell them its just to make sure they are being treated good or just tell them that you love them and want to see them grow up.

yes that'ss perfectly fine, u just want to see how yourbaby'ss are doing. Just ask the person who you give them to if you can see them once in a while.
Ask them when you give them away if they would be willing to send you an update now and then. If they say no, don't make a big deal about it. Or, if they never contact you don't try to seek them out.

It would be nice of them to send pictures, but they have no obligation to do so.
i think it will be fine. I mean, it's not like you're having them fill out one of those adoption questionnaires, right? And if you're really giving them away to a family who cares, they will be fine with it, it's not much of a hassle. In fact, just ask them for their email, and then a year or two later, just send them an email and casually ask for photask picturesos and news about how they are doing; again, if you are giving them away to a family who cares, they will have no problem whatsoever, I definitely wouldn't.

I think it would be ok to ask for one. I wouldn't mind giving you one and even more. You could ask all of them and be happy with the ones that give you the picture. You might have a lifetime friend too
yes of course it's ok.....i gave my dog's puppies away...and the new owners either called me or sent pics of the growing puppies...

Other than that, you can ask, but you really can't count on anything. When I adopted my fur babies from the cat rescue place inside Petsmart (Recycled Critters) i did send pics back, but I wasn't obligated to.
We have adopted cats from ask picturesother people and I have sent them photographs taken in the first week or so but none after that.

I send them the photos of the first days simply to show them that the cat is safe and healthy.

After that, I make a complete break with the people from whom we got the cat.

There is no point continuing to send photos as it may simply increase the sadness the person feels about giving up the cat and, quite frankly, they gave up all custody rights of the cat and it should be a clean break.

I think it might be appropriate for you to ask them to send you a couple of photos taken a week or so after they get the kitten home but I advise you not to ask them for any more photos after than.

You should make a clean and complete break with them - it is best for you and them.

Do not push them, in any way to send you photographs or to stay in touch with you in any other way.

If they offer, completely freely upon their own, to send you occasional photos, okay. However, if a long period should pass during which you don't hear from them, don't contact them, let them contact or not contact you.

This is based upon my experience with 26 cats over 22 years.
Why not... I ask to see the ones I have given away in person.

I am a US Army NCO and one of the longest running debates is how to start a run - sprint or jog. I run a 13:30 two mile and a 58:00 eight mile - so I am an OK runner.

But when training others who average 14:00 to 17:00 two-mile times what is the best way to start a 4 mile run.

This is for an information paper so I need more than opinion (although I want to hear those too). Please give as many references as you can.
I've had the best luck with an intervalic aproach.Starting slow after a warm up and strtch,then a brief sprint in intervals.The logic behind this lies in the fuels used for both types of activity(aerobic and anaerobic) and the physiological (or biological) processes that take place.During aerobic activity your body mainly uses fat converted to glucose through either ketosis or gluconeogenisis.
Anaerobic actvity mainly uses glycogen(stored carbohydrates) for fuel.This will eventually cause a lactic acid build up in the muscles.The slower pace after will help these acid levels dhow to run a faster mileisipate and the body buffer these acids to remake fuels like ATP(adenosine triphosphate) and glucose.The Krebs Cycle is involved to some degree here as well.
Your nubers are pretty good right now.My suggestions would be the careful choice of your day before pre run carb up.Of course long chain carbs help most but the addition of fructose(fruit sugar) will be better for replacing and storing liver glycogen(long term glycogen storage).Fructose is four times moere effective in replacing liver glycogen than any other carbohydrate.
One supplement that seems to be of great interest in this particular forum is Beta Alanine.It has been shown in numerous studies to increase the buffering rate of lactic acids.

It depends on your goal. The answer given, emphasizing interval traininghow to run a faster mile, is oriented towards training, and training for mid-distance or shorter. Intervals & tempo runs are good speed training for short & mid distance. But for racing, you want to run even splits or hang with the leaders.

dam.....your a pretty good runner. I run crosscountry, and track. For the 5k, (3 mi) Start out steady, find out your own breathing pace, and stick with someone who is a little faster then you, if you want it to be a successful race

Run fairly steady and keep an even pace. Then check how your are feeling in the last 1/2 mile. If it's a race you may be able to sprint to the finish line. It is sometimes better to allow the other runners to set the pace and then sprint the last few hundred yards.
If u r running a long way, u should start slowly. let the others go ahead, pick up ur speed after jogging 200m approx..

I'm normally good with dream interpretation, but this one is rather enigmatic.

I remember I was in a playground, with kids playing just normally. Then, a kid in a red shirt with black stripes (one going horizontal across his chest, the other vertical, rising from his waist up to his collar, so it looked like the christian cross). He looked aggravated to see me, and started to chase me. I was faster than him, but out of nowhere came this rather small (but still big) grizzly bear, and the boy claimed it was his pet. The boy was still chasing me, but the bear, instead of chasing with him, tried to get ahead and cut me off. I looked behind, and the boy was walking towards me when he slipped down a small hill, giving me an escape. The bear ran into a nearby forest, but used the same tactic as last time. I climbed through a jungle gym on the playground, and met a dead end. The boy was right there, still keeping that scowl at me. Without much thought, it seemed like time slowed dochristian dream interpretation colorswn for a minute, and out of my hand came out a blue-ish liquid that looked like ink, and I painted it all over the boy. No idea what it all means. Anyway, I believe much of dreaming is surreal anyway, so that interpreting them can be like reading tea-leaves -- more art than science. But I think the idea of "Colors That Kill' would make a dynamite SciFi thriller if you could write it.
