It is illegal. Now I was hoping that you can tell me why free game downloading from the Internet is illegal.

If you download it for free then the gamemaker doesn't get any money for his work! If everyone pirated everything, then there would be no more game development since why would someone develop a game that would make them no money (or a loss).
It's like stealing a patent. However as long as your illegally downloading your game for home usage (no reselling) than the charges that will go against you if your caught won't be as bad.
Maybe that is a a free game paid for via advertising (freeware or trial software).
These companies paid good money to develop these games, and they want to make a profit. That's like asking why it's illegal for me to come into your house and take your TV for free, it's not mine and I didn't pay for it.
Same with games, if you didn't pay for it, and you download it, it's stealingames free downloadg (unless the publisher is providing it for free, which is rare).

there really isn't any. Maybe you should try another P2P program i commonly use. It's called WinMX. Another program I rarely use but works and is free, its called Emule. It's kinds hard to work out the settings though. But i could be wrong, there might be sites out there where you could download songs.
