I was able to download the file "Shockwave_Installer_Slim" successfully, but when I double-click it or "Open" the file and choose run, a little pop-up comes up saying "Error Opening File for Writing: C\WINDOWS\(I'm not going to name this file any further...), Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, or Ignore to skip this file.". I have clicked "Abort", which just stops it all completely, I have clicked "Retry", nothing happens, and if I click "Ignore", it comes up with other files that failedinstaller adobe shockwave player download. The thing is, If I click "Ignore" enough times, it will install some files *but not all the files*, and then I click finish. I play this online game that needed the new version of Shockwave player, but when I went to play this game (after downloading and the so-called Installation of Shockwave), it said "Click here to download Plugin". So I download it, all the way to the Installation, and then it says next to the file "FAILED". How do I fix this?
Well, Your best bet would be to UNinstall shockwave, track down all the files for that ginstaller adobe shockwave player downloadame and delete them... Basicly, you need to remove every reminent of that game off you computer. Once you have done that, download shockwave directly from adobe, redownload the install file or whatever you got for that game (do NOT use the install you already downloaded, it appears to be corrupted). And try again.
Assumeing the game works and you meet the requirements, you must have somehow corrupted some part of this process (through no fault of your own). Clean out every bit of it you can and it "should" work.
