I'm just getting into red vs blue, and I'm starting from the beginning. However, I prefer the censored versions people have made. . . . so my question is, is it legal to watch red vs blue on youtube, or do you have to buy it by season to watch it legally?

there is no law against watching anything on youtube, or any otheblue youtuber streaming webistes. If its copywrighted, its illegal to upload it to youtube, or share it by any other means. To actually watch it, you don't break any laws.
if you are still worried, you could always rent it, they have them available at most rental stores.
