I have the Avast 4.8 Home Edition and the AVG Free Antivirus.Should I keep both of them on my PC or uninstall one of them? If so, which one should I remove?
Only use one realtime engine. Avira is better than AVG. If you have Avast already, keep Avast and remove AVG. AVG has no rootkit detection.

download AVG FOR FREE and play safe.......
copy above link to search bar of your browser...
keeping both might create conflict among them ,and your system files might get affected. It is suggested that you choose only one .
It avg free editionis said that Avast is more powerful than Avg, in finding virus, but ,it occupies a lot of space of memory and system.
Avg is simple and it works well.I have now Avg and update it regularly .i do not have any problem.
I had also earlier used avast.but, its boot scan delays start up,even if you disable it ,there is some problem that it got struck,so now i am trying avg for a change.i am not blaming avast,i am doing experiment ,to decide which one could be Better.
NOw, as i have made it clear,it is your choice to select.but, have only one anti-virus.
Good advice so far. But whatever you keep and use, most A-V utilities will avg free edition'quarantine' infected files IF it can't remove them. That deactivates them, putting them in solitary confinement, so to speak.
.
EITHER ONE IS A GOOD FREE PROGRAM.USE ONLY ONE AND UNINSTALL THE OTHER.AND YES,AVG WILL REMOVE AN INFECTED FILE TO QUARANTINE.THERE YOU WILL HAVE THE CHOICE TO REMOVE,TRY TO DISINFECT OR REPAIR THE FILE.
Both Avira and Avast are better than AVG. AVG has one of the worst detection rates around.
Uninstall AVG and keep avast. Having 2 AV might conflict and slow down your system.
pender is correct. You do NOT want to have more than one AV engine installed on a computer.
